The text: The serviceability of the transmitting and receiving equipment is not sufficient, condition for high quality and sustainable reception of signals transmitted. It was found that except for certain conditions, the passage of radio waves in the atmosphere, there are some side reasons, which not only can in some way degrade the quality of reception, but sometimes can make it, and quite impossible. These reasons are various physical processes inside and outside of the receiver, causing interference with the radio.
Ways of Development of Radio Engineering are largely determined by precisely the task of getting rid of radio interference.
Differ quite a significant amount of interference. Most radio sources are outside the receiving device and thus, they are in relation 'to it by external interference. Some of the same kinds of interference owe their existence to the processes taking place in the receiving device, and therefore they are called internal interference or noise. In addition to this distinction, EMI noise is divided into active and passive interference. By passive noise are the kinds of interference with the radio, which lead to the violation of normal propagation conditions from transmitter to receiver (the phenomenon of fading radio echoes). Active noise has the character of electromagnetic waves or pulses, and they act directly on the receiver.
